A psalm.<\/p>\n<p>1 Lord, you have examined me<br \/>\nAnd you know me deeply.<br \/>\n2 You know when I sit down and when I rise;<br \/>\nYou understand my thoughts from far away.<br \/>\n3 You observe my every movement,<br \/>\nAnd are familiar with all my actions.<br \/>\n4 Before a word even crosses my lips,<br \/>\nYou already know it completely, Lord.<br \/>\n5 You encircle me\u2014both behind and before;<br \/>\nYou place your hand upon me.<br \/>\n6 Such knowledge is beyond me,<br \/>\nToo marvelous for me to grasp.<br \/>\n7 Where can I escape from your Spirit?<br \/>\nWhere can I flee from your presence?<br \/>\n8 If I ascend to the heavens, you are there;<br \/>\nIf I make my bed in the depths, you are there.<br \/>\n9 If I rise on the wings of the morning,<br \/>\nOr settle on the farthest shore,<br \/>\n10 even there your hand will guide me,<br \/>\nYour right hand will hold me securely.<br \/>\n11 If I say, \u201cSurely the darkness will cover me,<br \/>\nAnd the light around me will become night,\u201d<br \/>\n12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;<br \/>\nThe night will shine like the day,<br \/>\nFor darkness is as light to you.<br \/>\n13 You formed my innermost being;<br \/>\nYou knit me together in my mother\u2019s womb.<br \/>\n14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;<br \/>\nYour works are wonderful,<br \/>\nI know that full well.<br \/>\n15 My frame was not hidden from you<br \/>\nWhen I was made in secret,<br \/>\nWhen I was woven together in the depths of the earth.<br \/>\n16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;<br \/>\nAll my days were written in your book<br \/>\nBefore any of them came to be.<br \/>\n17 How precious are your thoughts toward me, O God!<br \/>\nHow vast is the sum of them!<br \/>\n18 Were I to count them,<br \/>\nThey would outnumber the grains of sand.<br \/>\nWhen I awake,<br \/>\nI am still with you.<br \/>\n19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God!<br \/>\nAway from me, you bloodthirsty men!<br \/>\n20 They speak of you with evil intent;<br \/>\nYour enemies misuse your name.<br \/>\n21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord?<br \/>\nAnd do I not abhor those who rise up against you?<br \/>\n22 I hate them with a total hatred;<br \/>\nI count them my enemies.<br \/>\n23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;<br \/>\nTest me and know my anxious thoughts.<br \/>\n24 See if there is any offensive way in me,<br \/>\nAnd lead me in the way everlasting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Psalm 139 For the director of music.
