The book gently walks readers through the valleys of pain toward the peaks of renewal, offering hope to anyone navigating trauma, grief, or personal transformation.

My Take on the Book

Reading Inner Rise: Journey Beyond Trauma feels like sitting with a compassionate friend, one who understands the weight of pain but also points gently toward hope. Doreen’s narrative is honest and raw, yet restorative.
As a therapist, I resonated deeply with her portrayal of healing as a process, not a straight path, but a sacred unfolding. She beautifully merges psychological insight with spiritual truth, showing that faith and therapy can coexist as allies in recovery.
“This book is more than a story, it’s a mirror. It invites you to look at your wounds without fear and see the possibility of life beyond them.”

Lessons That Stayed With Me

Healing is communal. We don’t rise alone. The presence of others who hold space for our pain is often what makes transformation possible.

Faith and self-awareness are not opposites. They intertwine, one grounds us, the other lifts us.

Vulnerability is power. Doreen’s openness reminds us that strength isn’t about perfection, but presence; the courage to be real, even when it hurts.

Why “Inner Rise” Matters

In a world that often glorifies silence around pain, Inner Rise breaks that silence with wisdom and compassion. It affirms that trauma does not have to be a life sentence; it can be the soil from which new life grows.
For me, as both a therapist and a believer, this book bridges the gap between psychology and purpose. It’s a reminder that healing is not just about recovery, it’s about rediscovery.

In my words:

“Every story of survival is a story of grace. And when we tell it, we give others permission to heal too. Inner Rise is that permission, written in truth and love.”

Book: Inner Rise: Journey Beyond Trauma
Author: Doreen Wachira
Reviewed by: Lydiah Karimi
Where to buy: https://eishconsult.com/shop

This past weekend, I joined my good friend Doreen Wachira for the launch of her powerful book, Inner Rise: Journey Beyond Trauma, right here in Nairobi, and I must say, it was truly one for the books!
